Free to Love Me School Tour

Free to Love Me” is a student outreach and mentoring program which specifically targets middle and high school young ladies.  The Tour promotes the importance of self-love, self-respect, self-esteem and abstinence.  The Tour also addresses some of the critical issues girls ages 10-17 are faced with in their daily lives at home, in school and in their communities.  The school tour promotes peer-to-peer communications as members of the tour speaker’s bureau are teenage girls who are dealing with some of the same issues and challenges as the young ladies we plan to reach on the tour.  Also, Vanessa Baker, Miss New Jersey USA 2003 has partnered with MDK and will address the importance of self-esteem, body image and self-validation.  The goal of the “Free to Love Me” School Tour is to bring to the forefront pertinent challenges and issues faced by pre-teen and teenage girls in an open, non-judgmental forum during school hours.  The program will provide an opportunity for these young women to share with their peers their personal challenges and problems.  The program will also emphasize the importance of loving and respecting themselves enough not to make unwise choices that can ultimately impact their lives negatively.  Tour speakers will also discuss the importance of young women supporting one another regardless of their socioeconomic backgrounds or ethnicity.  MDK connects those in need of assistance and support to resources in their communities.
